Two of the most unique, soulful voices in country music coming together on the historical Ryman Auditorium stage.
Back in 2021, Kip Moore invited Ashley McBryde to join him for a performance of one of his most underrated tunes, “Janie Blu,” off his then-new album, “Wild World.”
Ashley McBryde is among the most popular female country artists in her own right, but she’s also known for lending her stunning vocals to others as a featured artist, including the likes of Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, and Carly Pearce, as well as her duet partner in this performance, Kip Moore.
The pairs voices mesh beautifully in this three year-old performance, actually in some ways improving upon the original version that McBryde isn’t included in. The duet is truly a gift for fans of both artists as their unique sounds strongly compliment one another.
Moore leads the performance, while McBryde provides deep, powerful backup vocals, giving the song greater depth and new life. Additionally, the famed Ryman Auditorium serving as the venue makes the atmosphere that much more amazing.
The performance video is captioned with a comment from Moore regarding his respect for McBryde:
“I’ve loved everything about Ashley since the first time we met years ago. We’ve always talked about doing something together, and I had a blast finally getting to share the stage with her.”
Their live rendition of “Janie Blu” wasn’t the end of their connection as they have since collaborated on “One Heartbeat” from Moore’s 2023 record, “Damn Love.” The tune is definitely a standout on the somewhat disappointing album as their talents, yet again, blend extremely well.
