It’s been well-documented at this point that former 90s country star, Billy Ray Cyrus, has had a rocky relationship with his now ex-wife, Tish Finley. Finley originally filed for divorce back in June of 2013 after 19 years of marriage then again filed for divorce a second time in April of 2022.
Since then, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer has married and divorced Australian singer, Firerose. Cyrus recently divorced on May 22, 2024, citing that the marriage was obtained by fraud. However, the story between the two just got even more messy and seemingly pulled his daughter, none other than Miley Cyrus, into the ongoing controversies he’s gotten into over the past few years.
Today, Daily Mail reported on an exclusively-obtained leaked piece of audio from Cyrus and Firerose’s heated argument seemingly over leaving to get to his performance in which the 62-year-old singer verbally abused her.
The leaked audio contains Cyrus calling Firerose a plethora of different insults ranging from a “selfish f*cking b*tch,” to a “dumba*s” to a “f*cking idiot.”
He also said, “You are a selfish f*cking b*tch. You cannot continue to walk all over me and think that I’m going to go out in public with your dumb a** and f*cking have you do this sh*t anywhere you want in front of whoever. This would not be happening if you would have just shut your f*cking mouth.”
In the second segment of the audio recording, he begins referring to himself in the third person while taking aim at his ex-wife, “The other two children that were there was sh*t that was there from a previous marriage before she met Billy Ray, by two separate fathers. No, woman, I said that wrong. Not a previous marriage. The other two children that were there, she was impregnated by two different men and had those children before she met Billy Ray.”
Cyrus then made a cryptic reference to his children, “Just think if it said that. The truth on… Brandi, Trace and everyone know’s devil’s a sk*nk.”
Cyrus doesn’t refer to Miley by name in this quote. However, many, including Us Weekly, are claiming that he is referencing his daughter.
Just minutes ago, Fox News reported that Cyrus did, in fact, confirm that the leaked audio was of him. He said, “Hell yeah, I was at my wit’s end. As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. And that’s before I knew she was a fraud. I just knew something wasn’t right. That was before I knew she was David Hodges’ ex-wife. That’s before I knew her parent’s last name.”
He also added, “I saw before my very own eyes, everything I thought I knew about her was a lie. She was trying to take over my career, my life and usurp the Cyrus name for her own gain. See you in court.”
It should be noted, however, that he never addressed the “devil’s a skank.” comment. Additionally, the same Fox source also alleges that the leaked audio has been edited, claiming that it’s a “series of conversations between the former couple that have been edited together.”
