While a majority of country fans collectively lost their minds after Beyoncé took home Best Country Album at the Grammys last night, it seems like the award show was the last thing on Riley Green’s mind. Directly after show ended, the “Don’t Mind If I Do” singer took to Instagram to share an acoustic cover of Shania Twain’s classic 1998 hit, “You’re Still The One,” on social media.
“You’re Still The One” hardly needs an introduction, being not only one of Twain’s biggest hits but also one of the most successful pop-country crossovers of all time. The track netted the Canadian country star a #1 on Billboard’s US Hot Country Songs, Canada’s Adult Contemporary/Country and Australia’s all-genre chart. It would additionally be certified platinum in four countries, including the United States, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The Alabama native delivered a damn-good acoustic cover of Twain’s iconic hit, and I definitely wouldn’t mind a full version on an upcoming album or EP. It seems like fans also shared the same sentiment with comments reading:
“when the cover is 1000000x beetter than the original 😍😍😍😍“
“Riley!! We need a full cover of this song! Please!!!!”
“Never knew I needed this cover but here we are”
“Please put a full version of this on Spotify 🙏“
“We absolutely need this. It is one of the greatest songs and covered by you 🔥🔥🔥“
