Reminiscing on the memories of their historic co-headlining show at Sanford Stadium, Jason Aldean recently released the official live music video for his title track, “Songs About Us” with Luke Bryan.
Hard to believe that it’s already been nearly three months since long-time friends and Georgia boys, Aldean and Bryan, took the stage at the University of Georgia, marking the first concert at the school’s stadium in over a decade. In a fitting full-circle moment, the duo also happened to be the last artists to perform there, when Aldean brought his Night Train Tour to the stadium in 2013 with Bryan serving as the opening act. That show stood as the first, and, until this year’s Live Between the Hedges show, the only concert ever held at the venue.
Thirteen years, over 30 number one hits, and many albums later, the two country superstars reunited for an epic performance, trading off the stage to perform their massive fan-favorite tracks and, of course, sing a few together. Arguably the most important duet of the night was Aldean and Bryan’s live debut performance of the namesake track off of Aldean’s coinciding April 25 album release, Songs About Us.
Now, fans can finally relive the monumental performance with the official live video released yesterday, July 21. Ahead of the YouTube music video premiere, Aldean took the time to answer a few fan questions, including a quick origin story of how the collaboration project came to be.
Shouting out the writers Kurt Allison, John Edwards, Tully Kennedy, and John Morgan. Aldean told viewers, “This was a song that a couple of my bandmates wrote, and for me it was just like listening to the song; it kind of made me think about, you know, growing up and listening to all the artists that I did growing up and how their songs sort of were the soundtrack of my childhood and my teenage years and even now.” This idea got Aldean reminiscing on his own time period in country music, adding, “I just felt like for the last 20 years, Luke and I have, you know, put out a lot of music and our songs have probably been the soundtrack to people’s lives as well.”
Of course, he noted that Luke is always a fun collaborating buddy and that filming the official visuals for the song at Sanford Stadium, “just felt like the right place to try this song out for the first time and, you know, shoot the video there and just make it a special moment.” The music video is packed with highlights from the performance, including a cameo from UGA football head coach Kirby Smart, plenty of drinks being shared, and the playful onstage chemistry that makes Aldean and Bryan’s friendship so entertaining to watch.
For those hoping to see the dynamic duo for themselves in concert and witness the song live, Aldean and Bryan will return to their shared stage for four shows on their 2026 Double Down Tour, kicking off on August 1 in Missoula, Montana. Fans can also catch their co-headlining performance at their stops in San Diego, Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas.
