Certainly did not expect to be wiping away tears like this on a Friday afternoon.
Kickstarting his 2026 Songs About Us Tour this past weekend in Bangor, Maine, on July 16, Jason Aldean already has fans requesting changes to the set list— but for good reason. This time around, one dedicated Aldean fan has an extremely touching song request she wants to implement into his upcoming show.
A Texas local woman by the name of Jillian has now gone viral on social media for a video she made hoping to reach Jason Aldean and his team. In the clip, Jillian explains that she’s been a fan of the country music superstar since ’05 when “Hicktown” dropped, adding that it’s become a tradition for her and her mother to go to his concerts together, “those are memories we share together and something we love to do together.”
She then unfortunately explains that her upcoming plans to see the “Too Fast” singer will be her first solo concert since her mom’s passing. Tonight, July 24, Jillian will be making the six-hour-plus commute to see Aldean perform in Oklahoma City, noting, “This will be the first time that my mama can’t make it. On June 1st this summer, the Lord decided to take her home and quit her suffering from her cancer.”
Holding back her tears, she explains that in her mama’s honor, she would love to hear one special song during the night: “I just wanted to make a song request and see if, for one night in Oklahoma City, you could update your set list and honor her memory with the song ‘Good To Go.'”
Not only is the 2005 track from his debut self-titled album both one of Jillian’s and her mama’s favorites, but she also tear-jerkingly notes that it “reflects her life in the right way.” She humbly ends the video emphasizing the request but noting that no matter what, she’ll be in the front row.
If you don’t have tissues on standby, I recommend stopping the video at a minute and two seconds before Jillian’s photo collage of her mom’s pictures with the song playing in the background starts pulling at every heart string. While no official confirmation has been made on whether or not Aldean has seen the post, I think Jillian has a pretty good shot at getting his attention with the comment section flooded with people tagging him and his wife Brittany.
A few artists like Adam Doleac and Tayler Holder also piped in, saying they would send this along to Aldean’s team and “let’s make this happen.” With the headlining show now just hours away at the Paycom Center, hopefully Aldean can put this caring daughter’s wish into fruition tonight.
