If you’ve yet to see this little boy singing his heart out on your TikTok For You page, it’s only a matter of time.
A young man named Owen (or @owensmusic13 on TikTok) has recently captivated 1.1 million viewers on the internet so far with his epic cover of John Anderson’s 1982 hit, “Swingin’.” While the country legend’s second single topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart back in the day and has since been certified gold by the RIAA, my question is: how does a little boy who can’t be much older than 13 years old know every word by heart?
Whoever raised this kid is certainly doing a good job with his video displaying his pretty stellar singing chops alongside guitarist Colt Prather in Scottsville, Virginia. Putting his whole soul into the microphone while gripping his Nike camo shorts, Owen had the whole crowd (and comment section) swingin’ along.
Think everyone can agree that we all resonate with the one man sitting front row in the grass at the local performance who was rollin’ back and groovin’ along with his red solo cup raised to the sky. Turns out Owen’s new number one fan in the audience was actually the hometown show’s lead singer, Cody, who lent the stage to the young fan, hyping him to everyone in another video posted on his page: “He wasn’t kidding when he said he knew [the song].”
As for Owen, who’s got plenty of other videos showing off his karaoke chops and local church performances, everyone in the comments agreed that we might’ve just found the next future American Idol winner.
