Throwback time.
Back in September of 2017, two of the most beloved acts in country music shared the stage together to perform one of the most iconic and well-known songs from the King’s hefty discography, “All My Ex’s Live In Texas.”
The George Strait & Chris Stapleton performance was from a Hurricane Harvey benefit concert at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio, Texas, which also featured Miranda Lambert and helped raise over $40 million for its victims.
While you absolutely hate to see homes and livelihoods destroyed from these disasters, it seems the country music community always comes together to provide support and raise money for immediate humanitarian crises by putting on kick-ass performances, which in return, we also get to watch and reflect on years later.
All My Ex’s Live In Texas was written by Sanger D. Shafer and Lyndia J. Shafer and was released in April of 1987 as the second single from Strait’s seventh studio album, “Ocean Front Property.” Although it didn’t take home the award, it was nominated for Best Male Vocal Country Performance at the 1988 Grammy’s.
Chris and George have also been on a stadium run with Little Big Town and just recently added another nine shows for next year.
The new dates include Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Chicago and more. Click here for more info and enjoy the performance, below.
