Well, it’s officially been almost a month since Morgan Wallen was arrested for tossing a chair off of the sixth-story rooftop of Eric Church’s new Nashville bar, Chief’s, and the jokes are still running rampant.
Ever since the news broke that the 30 year-old country star had been booked and charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, the comment sections of every Wallen related post have been filled with lyrics from some of the singer’s most popular songs, replacing any noun possible with the word “chair.”
“Leave them broadway chairs alone.”
“I found a chair in this bar.”
And after a couple weeks of silence, Morgan finally took to X (formerly Twitter) to clear the air and issue an apology for his actions that night at Church’s bar, saying, “I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.”

Morgan also played his first-show since the arrest last weekend in Oxford, Mississippi, and after the concert was over, he was caught on camera signing a T-shirt for a young fan with a picture of his mugshot on the front and text that read, “Leave Them Broadway Chairs Alone.” After he gave the shirt back to the fan, he smiled and joked; “Do as I say, not as I do.” You can view that here.
And now, Chief’s, the new hot-spot on broadway owned by Morgan’s good buddy, Eric Church, has decided to poke even more fun at the incident, revealing a new plaque on the rooftop this morning for “Church Choir” members that reads “don’t even think about it, you are not Morgan Wallen.”
I’d like to think that no one else would try it after the three felony charges Morgan received, but hey, ya never know… alcohol is one helluva drug.
