My man is already recovering from a broken leg, and now people are trying to give him another injury?

A few months back, Grammy-winning bluegrass staple Billy Strings took a quick hiatus from touring after breaking his leg in a skateboarding accident backstage, rescheduling two stops in April— One of those being last night’s August 6 show in Fishers. As promised to fans hoping to originally see him April 24, the singer/guitarist finally returned to the stage, still healing and preparing for the August 28 release of his album, So Much For Goodbyes.

Apparently, though, one fan at Fishers Event Center last night decided it would be a great idea to throw something on stage at his head during his talking intermission. Not sure how we haven’t already learned from Riley Green’s Australian ear-bleeding mishap and Wallen chucking everyone’s cellphones across the stage, but here we are.

Billy was stunned (and maybe slightly stoned), to say the least, calmly reacting, “Well, what the hell, man.” The incoming flying object (which some online are saying it was either a phone or lighter) came at an unfortunate moment too, with the Michigan native just telling the crowd how excited he was to be back in Indiana.

He hilariously quipped back, “Maybe not. Maybe I shouldn’t have came back.” Squinting into the audience, he disappointingly asked the question we’ve all been wondering, “You know why the f*ck would you throw something man?”

Then he followed with my personal favorite comeback, “Is your d*ck really that small?” He reacted exactly how I also probably would’ve in that situation and just stared at everyone in awe for a few seconds before proclaiming, “I was just getting ready to say how much I’m happy to be here and I love you guys and all this sh*t and then you throw something, it hits me right in the f*cking head.”

There’s always that one guy that’s gotta ruin the moment for everybody. Billy hopped right back into his set but not before letting the security know, “Find out who that was and sodomize him, please.” He’s got such a way with words.

I don’t know what kinda crash courses we need to start giving people before heading into concert settings, but apparently “How Not To Throw Things 101” needs to be retaught. Unfortunately for the Indiana fans who were treated to a less high-energy show after the incident, I wouldn’t blame Billy if he left with a bit of a grudge after that.

The “Dust In a Baggie” singer will return to the stage tonight at Fishers Event Center in Indiana, and I expect everyone to be on their best behavior this time ’round.

Some Indiana dirtbag just threw something at Billy and the projectile hit Billy in the head. Come on people. Do better. Billy is an angel on earth. Treat him as such. We love you William! 8.6.26 Fishers, Indiana #BMFS #Fishers #BillyStrings @Billy Strings
