While he may often partner up with his fellow country music friends on stage like Chris Stapleton, Red Clay Strays, Stephen Wilson Jr., etc., Zach Top’s not necessarily the type to be pulling fans out of the crowd to help him sing his hits.
Which is probably for good reason, considering the 28-year-old Washington native’s discography doesn’t necessarily feature a lot of built-in duets, and with smooth vocals like Top’s, who would want to take the risk of singing alongside his stunning voice in front of thousands of fans? With that being said, one brave fan at Top’s Duluth, Georgia, concert last night had the guts to take the leap of faith, holding a sign up in the crowd, loud and proud, that asked, “Can I sing with you?”
Sure enough, Top spotted the sign in the middle of a wave of people at the Gas South Arena and also decided to take a massive chance on the young man, pulling him up on stage for a rare performance. The teen, Brayden Frasure (who does in fact have his very own TikTok account dedicated to his budding singing career, much like a young Top), enthusiastically hopped up beside the Grammy-award winner.
Decked out in nearly the same outfit as one another— a pearl snap shirt, baseball cap, big belt, and jeans— they decided to keep things classic for their performance and do what Top does best: a good ‘ole country cover. Prefacing the impromptu rendition, Top warned the crowd, “Sorry to George Jones and David Allan Coe for not doing your version, and we wanna say sorry to Chris Stapleton in case we screw up your version. We love you, Chris; we’re gonna try our best.”
And with that, Top kicked off the first verse of Stapleton’s 2015 2x Diamond-certified cover of “Tennessee Whiskey.” Grinning ear-to-ear with a smile that can only come from the excitement of singing alongside Top, Brayden joined in on the second verse flawlessly.
I don’t think there was a person in the crowd not pleasantly shocked at the young man’s vocals. Heartwarmingly, at the end of the two’s epic performance, Brayden started welling up in tears. Ladies and gents, I think we found ourselves the next rising country star.
Across every social media clip capturing the special moment, the comment sections are littered with newfound supporters and fans equally in awe of Brayden’s vocals. In his very own TikTok video, he extended his gratitude to Top, writing, “I can’t believe this happened. I am forever grateful, @ZachTop! Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.”
What a way to round out his 2026 Cold Beer & Country Music tour as the “I Never Lie” singer returns to the stage tonight at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for one final show of the year. Top will also pop up this Sunday in Watertown, TN, for the exciting premiere of his first-ever concert film, alongside an intimate pre-screening concert.
