One to keep an eye on.
Following the success of her debut single, “Hurts Like Hell” (which has now garnered over a million streams on Spotify alone), Lily Fitts returns with her sophomore release, “I Know What It Isn’t.“
Written by Fitts, as well as Dan Barber and Kevin Bard, the folk-pop track is about a girl who seemingly experienced unfaithfulness in her relationship, reiterating that while she may not know everything about love, she sure knows what it’s not.
“I Know What It Isn’t is a song that I wrote about being in a relationship where there is everything but actual love involved. This song is about realizing what you deserve and knowing what to look out for in the future so you don’t repeat cycles.”
Fitts first saw success when she captivated users on social media, most notably TikTok, with covers of songs from artists such as Zach Bryan, Noah Kahan, Fleetwood Mac and a cool acoustic rendition of “Me On Whiskey” from Morgan Wallen’s sophomore record, “Dangerous: The Double Album.”
The first thing that stood out to me about Lily Fitts was her incredibly beautiful, and sometimes raspy, soft tone. It’s obvious I’m not the only person online to think so, as she has racked up an impressive 3 million total likes on TikTok alone.
Lily isn’t afraid to show some personality in some of her promos for her latest single, but the way she’s able to effortlessly command your attention with simply just her guitar and often closed eyes, is what makes her stand out on the same social platforms that just about every singer-songwriter is also using in hopes of making their voice heard.
Zach Bryan shared Lily’s cover videos to his Instagram story and even later invited her to perform alongside him at his sold-out show in Los Angeles at the Crypto Arena back in August. The cool thing about that night? It was the 22 year-old’s first ever live performance. She’s also received recognition online from other highly successful artists including Noah Kahan and The Lumineers.
