Last night, rising country artist Jonathan Peyton dropped his newest single, “Goin’ Crazy.”
The single marks his second release in just two months and is meant to generate excitement for his upcoming album “Nothing Here’s The Same.” Both of the recent songs will be included on the album, which is set to be released on March 1, 2024 – nearly 8 years after the release of his debut album “Waters Below” in March of 2016.
On December 12, Peyton took to Instagram to announce the project, offering deeper insight into the album’s theme of change:
“My new album Nothing Here’s the Same releases everywhere on March 1st. This album is about change. Sometimes change is a good thing and sometimes it’s not. It can be necessary and painful. It can be joyful and devastating. Sometimes the change within ourselves causes us to look at the world different.”
“Goin’ Crazy” is not only representative of the upcoming album’s overarching theme but also perfectly encapsulates the essence of Jonathan Peyton as an artist. The song exemplifies his acoustic style in instrumentals while also keeping an honest story in its lyrics. Qualities like these are why the Georgia native is comparable to the likeness of artists such as Zach Bryan and Dylan Gosset.
“Told em’ I’m going crazy but I’m goin’ somewhere“
Although I can’t speak as to how Jonathan Peyton is “going crazy,” I can assure you–much like the song suggests–he does seem to be going somewhere. No specific plans or tour dates have been released for 2024 yet, but you can, however, catch Peyton performing alongside Wyatt Flores during the 2024 “Life Lessons” tour. Until March, all we can do is eagerly wait for “Nothing Here’s The Same” hoping that all its songs are as good as “Goin’ Crazy.”
