Last night, Charley Crockett took to late-night television to perform his newest song “$10 Cowboy,” the title track to his upcoming album.
The performance features Crockett’s band, the Blue Drifters, and comes just one day after announcing the upcoming release of his next album entitled $10 Cowboy. The album is set to come out on April 26, making it his first major release of 2024.
The song is an excellent showcase of the Texas native’s old-school style. Crockett has always maintained a bluesy feel in his music throughout his career–a factor that often earns him comparisons to country legends such as Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. “$10 Cowboy” keeps that country feeling, but incorporating the electric guitar and keyboard gives this song a fresh twist from the usual.
In addition to fully announcing the upcoming album, the 39-year-old singer even announced dates for his 2024 tour. The “$10 Cowboy Tour” is set to contain 18 shows and begins on May 20 in Vancouver, CA. It is set to conclude in Brooklyn, NY on July 20, however, Crockett claims more dates will be announced soon. The tour will feature performances by Canadian singer/songwriter Noeline Hofmann.
