One of the most iconic Country songs of the 2000’s.
Zac Brown Band has been known for a TON of popular songs throughout their lengthy career. Right up there with “Toes,” I’d say their debut single “Chicken Fried“ is arguably their biggest single to date.
Released on June 16th, 2008, and written by Brown, as well as Wyatt Durrette, Chicken Fried was actually originally recorded in 2003 but wasn’t released to radio until after the band signed to Live Nation Records.
Fun fact; the song was also recorded and released as a single by The Lost Trailers in 2006 but was later withdrawn after Brown decided that he wanted to release it himself. Fast forward 16 years later and the track is still a staple in Country music and is currently certified a whopping 9X platinum by the RIAA.
