With the 2024 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards less than two weeks away, the performers for one of the biggest nights in country music have just been announced. With some of the biggest stars, Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton and Post Malone, all performing hits throughout the night, it looks like the potential standout is going to be none other than Stapleton and Malone performing their collaboration, “California Sober.”
Though it hasn’t been released as a single, “California Sober” has been one of the more popular tracks on Malone’s massive debut country album, F-1 Trillion, boasting over 26 million streams on Spotify alone and peaked at #14 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart back on August 31st.
With five and three nominations on the night respectively, all signs point to Stapleton and Malone being one of the night’s big winners with Stapleton, in particular, being tied for the second most-nominated artist behind Morgan Wallen (7 nominations).
The CMA Awards will be hosted by Lainey Wilson, Luke Bryan and 5x NFL MVP Peyton Manning, airing live on ABC at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee at 7 p.m. CT on November 20. It will be available to watch on Hulu the following day.
