Since the announcement of his brand new album, Snipe Hunter, back on June 12th, Tyler Childers has sent the internet into what can only be described as a frenzy. Releasing the first-ever studio version of “Nose On The Grindstone” and following it up with the long-awaited, “Oneida,” today, fans of the Kentucky native have been nothing short of enamored with the prospect of receiving an album chalked full of unreleased favorites from the past decade.
Upon the release of “Oneida” today, Childers revealed the full tracklist for Snipe Hunter, and it was not what fans were expecting to say the least. Though the 13-track record will contain the aforementioned “Nose On The Grindstone,” “Oneida” and the popular, unreleased “Cuttin’ Teeth,” highly-speculated favorites such as “Jersey Giant,” “Messed Up Kid,” “Her And The Banks” and “Redneck Romeo” are all noticeably absent on the album.
Snipe Hunter Tracklist:
- “Eatin’ Big Time”
- “Cuttin’ Teeth”
- “Oneida”
- “Getting to the Bottom”
- “Bitin’ List”
- “Nose On The Grindstone”
- “Watch Out”
- “Down Under”
- “Poachers”
- “Snipe Hunt”
- “Tirtha Yatra”
- “Tom Cat And A Dandy”
- “Dirty Ought Trill”
Undoubtedly, the most disappointing omission from the album for fans of the “Whitehouse Road” singer is “Jersey Giant.” Given that he added it to his setlist after performing the track live for the first time ever on April 19th and hinted towards it in the initial teaser video for the record, nearly everyone speculated that it was a guarantee on Snipe Hunters.
On the Instagram reel posted by Hickman Holler Hunting Club announcing the tracklist, fans flooded the comments to point out the noticeable absence of “Jersey Giant” as well as the aforementioned “Her And The Banks” and “Messed Up Kid.”
“No Jeresy Giant?!?”
“Add Jersey Giant and Her and the Banks and it’s perfect!!”
“No her and the banks!? ☹️”
“Where the f*ck is jersey giant?”
“WHY NO JERSEY GIANT 😓”
“BOOOOOOO no jersey giant is criminal”
“No messed up kid 😭😭😭“
“Jersey giant…???💔“
“Looks like a great album, though I am disappointed we didn’t get the release of ‘Jersey Giant.'”
Despite some disappointment among fans, there were still many who expressed their excitement over the new album with quite a few simply happy that Childers is releasing an album larger than seven songs for the first time in years.
“This might be the unpopular opinion but I’m so happy it’s mostly new songs!!! 👏👏“
“Eatin’ BIG Time! I can’t wait y’all! Thank you for making my entire year this morning 🔥“
“Studio version of Snipe Hunt is gonna rule. Surprised there’s no Jersey Giant considering it was hinted towards in the teaser video last month + they’ve been playing it live. Thought for sure it would be on the album, but oh well. Also excited to hear all these new songs I’ve never heard of”
“😭😭😭 what a time to be alive”
“I tell ya I ain’t bummed that more ‘unreleased songs aren’t here, I’m excited to see what Timmy’s got brewed up. All I ask for are some incredible performances.”
Snipe Hunter, which will be co-produced by Childers himself and legendary producer, Rick Rubin, releases on Friday, July 25th.
