As if dropping a no-skip 18-track album, amassing an ever-growing fan base, and continuing to dominate the charts wasn’t enough– Ella Langley wants to further solidify her title as a ‘powerhouse’ by adding actress to the list.
The 26-year-old Alabama native who grew up singing in the church and now has over 25 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone has mentioned in the past that she’s dreamt of dabbling in the acting scene. As of today, she has officially declared that hopefully this goal will be accomplished within the next year.
Celebrating the success of “Choosin’ Texas”‘s sixth week spent at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and now “Be Her” entering the top ten, the singer-songwriter sat down with the publication to discuss her multiple feats as well as what’s next on her radar. In response to the question, “What is on your career bucket list?” Langley revealed, “I want to start acting in the next year.”
Following in the footsteps of fellow country stars like Reba, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, Lainey Wilson, and most recently Riley Green, Langley wants to put her beloved twang on the big screen, whether it be in a thriller, comedy, or drama– just anything BUT a romance. Despite the intertwined themes of love and relationships in her music, Langley was adamant, saying, “I’m not a big romantic movie lady, so probably something funnier or a little more intense.”
This seems like the perfect time for Taylor Sheridan to swoop in and cast Langley for his next western drama. Following the debut of Langley’s plot-heavy “Choosin’ Texas” music video featuring Yellowstone’s lead star and country singer, Luke Grimes, fans were quick to draw comparisons to the producer’s hit shows and the potential in the cinematic 7-minute music video:
Taylor Sheridan has already turned this into a 3 season storyline in his head
Hell of a pilot episode
If this was a movie trailer, I would keep watching the movie over and over again
I forgot I was watching a music video and felt disappointed that the movie ended
We need a tv show with Ella as the main character now
If every script writer and producer were smart, they would hop on this prime opportunity to get country music’s biggest star in their next project as soon as possible. In the meantime, Langley also mentioned she has a few other personal goals she hopes to accomplish, including performing (or hosting) on SNL and, of course, the inevitable, “Sell out stadiums, that’s always been my goal.”
In preparation, she will soon dominate her upcoming 2026 Dandelion arena tour starting on May 7 in Toledo, Ohio, along with joining both Morgan Wallen and Eric Church on their stadium tours.
