Both American Idol viewers and judge Carrie Underwood continue to show their unwavering support for contestant Hannah Harper as the competition dwindles down to its final few rounds.
Harper was an immediate “YES” across the board at her initial audition, bringing everyone to tears with her vulnerable motherhood-inspired original, “String Cheese.” Following the airing of the Belmont University tapings, the clip of her wowing the judges in her patchwork dress went mega viral, now garnering almost 20 million views on TikTok alone, making it the most-watched post in Idol history.
Continuing to solidify her inevitable spot in the top three (at least), Harper has stunned with her renditions of Vince Gill’s “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” Lee Ann Womack’s “A Little Past Little Rock,” and most recently, Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.” Ahead of this performance for the show’s Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Famers themed night, season four winner and judge Underwood extended her support to the contestants with Tiffany & Co. gifts and handwritten notes.
With the “Before He Cheats” singer continuing to be a cheerleader for Harper, even drawing comparisons to her own journey, the customized “Carrie Underwood” stationery featured a very special note. She starts by congratulating the Missouri mother of three on making it to the Top 11, noting, “From the first time I laid eyes on you and heard your story and your voice, I knew you were special. So many women and moms everywhere have related to you.”
She then exclaimed, “You are an inspiration!!!” Marking herself as a true Harper fan like the rest of the internet, she finished the note off with, “I can not wait to see what God has in store for you, and I am so blessed to have a front row seat.”
While the rest of Underwood’s notes (seen on Jordan McCullough, Keyla Richardson, and Daniel Stallworth’s Instagrams) were written in a similar fashion, spreading her support to the other 10 contestants, this note in particular stood out. With her emphasized underlines and love for Harper’s character, Underwood certainly has her heart set on this special contestant.
Harper reciprocated the love in the caption of the post, saying, “the part that got me the most was the handwritten note. That meant more than anything. Just her taking the time to do that… it says everything about who she is.”
Considering the continued support from the country music scene, including the likes of Ella Langley, Carly Pearce, Parker McCollum, Emily Ann Roberts, and more, all following her journey on social media, she’s bound to go far no matter what. Season 24 will return next week on Monday night, April 20, with the show’s Top 9 performing songs from Disney. And considering Harper basically already sings and looks like a Disney princess, this is bound to be a knockout.
