Somebody needs to call up the Guinness World Records and get this catalogued ASAP.
This past Saturday, country music star Brantley Gilbert took the stage at the Rock the Country festival, where he helped probably his oldest fan to accomplish a pretty epic show-stopping milestone. The woman, 99-year-old Pauline Kana, better known as “Granny,” is a bit of an internet star herself via her grandson, Ross Smith’s social media page, where she shows her unapologetic, sassy, and impressively thriving personality.
Within just their past few recently posted videos, Granny got an oversized bra signed by NFL running back Marshawn Lynch, held up some wild signs at both a NASCAR race and WrestleMania, and took her electric scooter for a whip around a stripper pole. In her latest internet adventure, the legendary elder made waves, crawling into the Bellville, Texas, audience to crowd surf.
Mid set, Brantley helped announce, “Granny here is going to become the oldest woman to crowd surf in the history of the world.” The video then cuts to an insane shot of her floating on top of fans while strapped to a cot. Grinning ear to ear while gripping her grandson Smith’s hand, she excitedly expressed to the crowd afterwards that she had a good time.
I don’t think anybody will be able to top this record, or at least do it as flawlessly as Granny, so she’s pretty much bound to forever hold the title thanks to the Rock the Country crowd. This past weekend also marked the festival’s first stop as the Kid Rock-led event continues out on its nationwide stops throughout the summer, featuring artists like Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Riley Green, Ella Langley, Hank Williams Jr, Jon Pardi, and More.
