In case you needed a reminder that Ella Langley’s been a star in the making since day one, this cover from February 2023 is further proof.
Before her debut EP, Excuse The Mess, had even made its entry into the world, Langley was still posting quite a few covers amidst promoting her first few singles like “Country Boy’s Dream Girl” and “Hey Ma I Made It.” While this video of her belting Maroon 5’s “Sunday Morning” may be now over three years old, showcasing her slightly younger-sounding vocals, she still sounds so dang good.
Call me crazy, but some of Langley’s best tracks are her no-frills, acoustic melodies like “Made It Out Of Mexico” or the more recent, “Most Good Things Do.” Undoubtedly, this stripped-down video continues that track record.
Sitting in a dimly lit corner, the Alabama native’s raw vocals echo beautifully on this staple 2002 track from the band’s debut studio album. As Langley points out in the caption, echoing what pretty much everyone seems to think, Songs About Jane was Maroon 5 at their peak.
Given that Langley is experiencing an unbeatable career high with the continued success of her current three Billboard chart-topping hits, such as her Morgan Wallen duet, “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” “Be Her,” and, of course, “Choosin’ Texas,” the days of her spontaneous covers are bound to be pretty sparse. After all, the 27-year-old leading lady currently has 20 tracks of her own off of her sophomore album, Dandelion, to continue to shine a light on (which isn’t hard to do considering the project’s already been a dominating force in country music).
Langley is also about to officially head out on her headlining 2026 Dandelion tour tonight, May 7, in Toledo, Ohio. She’ll kickstart a packed summer of 16 dates across the United States, wrapping up on August 15 in Fort Worth, while also continuing her support on Wallen’s Still The Problem Tour.
