Watch Reba, Miranda Lambert & Ella Langley Join Forces to Spotlight Three Generations of Female Country Music In New Elle Magazine Sit Down

Talk about the dream team of leading ladies in country music.

Everyone’s favorite singer-songwriter turned TV superstar, Reba, sat down alongside hitmaking “Choosin’ Texas” duo, Ella Langley and Miranda Lambert, for ELLE magazine’s latest episode of ‘Three Generations.’ Representing three of the biggest names of country music at differing eras in the genre, the ladies opened up alongside one another in their wooden chairs about their experiences as female artists in the typically male-dominated industry.

Oh, and further proving she’s just like the rest of us, Langley also kicked off the episode admitting she had a pretty big Reba TV show obsession, telling the “Fancy” singer it was her “comfort show” last year. “Every day, they know, if I was on my bus and that was in my room. Like, don’t come in my room. I need this stuff. It’s so rednecking good.”

Langley in particular has also seen an unprecedented and untouched boom in country music, continuing to dominate the Billboard charts and beyond with her October 2025 single, along with “Be Her” and her Morgan Wallen duet, “I Can’t Love You Anymore.” Joining the likes of artists like Megan Moroney, Lainey Wilson, and Kacey Musgraves, there’s no denying that over the past few years, female voices have seen a rising, domineering presence.

According to McEntire and Lambert, this wasn’t always the case, and the support systems that have since flourished among these young women have been a shocking outcome. McEntire admitted the concept of girls hanging out in the country music scene, “doesn’t happen a lot.”

“I’ve been in the business 50 years, and this never happened because we were always on tour with the guys. And then you guys to make special time to be around each other, that’s very precious.” Also noting she wishes she had had that sort of encouragement at the start of her career, “and we’ve only started doing more of the girl hangout stuff in the last five years. Man, what I would have given to have had that.”

Getting to exemplify their sisterhood relationship, during the episode recorded at Urban Cowboy Bar in Nashville, the ladies dived into their early performing days with Reba telling stories about stinging scorpions at one venue and Lambert reflecting on having to perform at the rodeo just hours before her prom. Langley also opened up into a conversation about the importance of building grit in those small gigs, something a lot of younger artists plucked from TikTok don’t get to build on.

“I see a lot of people these days are getting pulled out of high school or right out of their bedroom playing guitar and immediately start going playing shows out on these big stages.” Humbly admitting, “I’m grateful I had some years to figure that out.”

She did go on to recognize that at least one benefit of being a modern artist is that she can easily beta-test a song on social media and have that easy connection with fans. However, all three women agreed it can get a little weird from a parasocial standpoint: “No one should ever know that much about what people are saying about them.”

While we’ve all heard the crazy stories about Miranda’s pet kangaroo inspiring “Choosin’ Texas” followed by the pack of cigarettes she bought to help write “Butterfly Season,” the two Dandelion co-writers also revealed a new tale about one of their more outlaw moments during one of the last writes of the album. Langley revealed, “We were in the middle of a write, and I saw a snake, and I tried to get up and catch it, and Miranda walked outside with a shotgun.”

Lambert chimed in, “We were tryna out-redneck each other is what we were doing.” Langley clarified that the snake was, in fact, not shot and that for any future hangouts with Reba involved, no shotguns would be present– only iced tea with a little “sum sum” in it.

As Langley continues to ride the unexplainable highs of 2026 so far with her Dandelion tour returning next Thursday, June 18, in Oklahoma City, the ladies ended the video with some words of wisdom. McEntire advised Langley to write down everything, saying, “As it is going so fast, you won’t remember it.”

As for Lambert, she extended the advice to surround herself with good people and “truth tellers,” at which Langley scooted her chair towards both icons. Given this video, I’d say the 27-year-old Alabama is in pretty good hands as her career continues to grow.
