Not to go full Nancy Drew mode, but I can’t help but scratch my head a little bit at Koe Wetzel’s latest Instagram story.
The “Fuss & Fight” singer shared a thank-you message to country music’s dominating starlet, Ella Langley, after she sent him a “Shiner” care package. Now, while the story was actually posted by Koe’s music account (typically run by his management) and not his personal social media account, his simple shout-out still has me wondering if there’s more to this teaser gift.
Right off the bat, the post’s text reading, “Thanks @ellalangleymusic for the gift on set,” has my eyebrow raised. With the Texas native currently out on his 2026 Night Champion Tour, what could he possibly be on set filming for?
Not to mention the oddity that Langley would even send him a mysterious Yeti bag filled with the Texas-brewed 6-pack in the first place. The cooler backpack, embossed with the Shiner Bock logo, glass bottles, koozies, and stickers hanging out the front pockets, all sat on top of Shiner bandanas, is most definitely a bit of promo partnership following Langley’s nod to the beer brand in her “Choosin’ Texas” music video (queue the bad a** bottle opening boot trick).
With that being said, I don’t really think this is a belated birthday gift for the red dirt staple who just turned 34 this past July 14. And while, sure, this could just be Langley sending her fellow “That’s Why We Fight” collaborator a little bit of PR as a kind gesture, part of me has to wonder if this is a nod to more to come from the fan-favorite duo.
Following Koe’s anticipated June album release of The Night Champion, he expanded the project by five new songs, along with an etched-out teaser of two additional collaboration tracks still yet to be announced. Call me crazy, but the second song most definitely has Langley’s name hidden underneath.
Considering Langley also has a hefty touring schedule, continuing on her 2026 headlining Dandelion tour while joining Morgan Wallen for one last stop on his Still The Problem Tour in the following weeks, whatever Koe’s currently on set for might not have anything to do with Langley directly. And maybe I’ll look like a clown once he actually announces the final two featured tracks on his album, but until then I have a good feeling that these two have more to come up their sleeves.
In the meantime, Koe has a quick turnaround from filming before returning to the stage tomorrow night, July 23, in Nampa, Idaho. Along with Langley heading to Pikeville, Kentucky tomorrow night.
