Nine months after the release of Growin’ Up, the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year releases the highly-anticipated follow-up, Gettin’ Old.

Combs first announced the album on Jan. 4 via Instagram, teasing a brand new 18-song tracklist chalked full of highly anticipated songs. Whether it is Joe, Love You Anyway, or the cover of the classic Tracy Chapman track, Fast Car, Grown’ Up brings many previously performed songs to Comb’s discography.

While announcing the album on Instagram, Combs said,

“This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now. One that I’m sure a lot of us are in, have been through, or will go through. It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy. Me and so many others have poured their hearts and souls into this record and I hope you love it as much as we do.”

One would think that after 15-straight number one hits, Luke Combs would show signs of slowing down. However, he really upped his game with the release of Gettin’ Old. The 18 tracks take you on a journey through Combs’ life and feels like a cumulation of his entire career up to this point. He covers everything from break-ups to falling in love to legacy and loss and even battles with alcoholism.

Combs is a co-writer on 15 of the 18 tracks on the record. He is joined by prolific Nashville songwriters Ray Fulcher, Casey Beathard and Ben Hayslip throughout the album’s 66-minute runtime.

Songwriting genius and fellow superstar, Eric Church, also appears as a co-writer on the track, My Song Will Never Die, which plays with the concept of music having a transcendent quality that will outlive any single artist.

Gettin’ Old is available to stream on all platforms now. Check out his latest single, Love You Anyway here:
