It’s been almost 35 years since we lost one of the greatest country singers of all time. Back in 1989, Keith Whitley passed away from alcohol poisoning at the young age of 34. Even though it’s been over three decades, Lorrie Morgan is still paying tribute to her late husband, most notably with a cover of his iconic hit, “Don’t Close Your Eyes.” Don’t Close Your Eyes was written by Bob McDill (also responsible for ‘Song of the South’ by Alabama and many, many more), and was released in March of ’88 as third single from his sophomore album of…
Like Brad Paisley said; “two of the best we’ve got.” Back in 2016, George Strait and Alan Jackson teamed up for a joint performance of their iconic hits, “Remember When” and “Troubadour” at the 50th annual CMA Awards. While the CMA’s (and just about every award show, to be honest) have seen their credibility diminish, (as well as their ratings), over the last few years, there’s still been a handful of moments to celebrate, and this is definitely one of them Alan wrote Remember When as a tribute to his wife, and released the track back in October of 2003…
Megan Moroney is one of the hottest acts in all of country music these days. In the past year, she earned her first-ever No. 1 at country radio with her viral, college football-themed love story song,Tennessee Orange, and she landed the top spot on Rolling Stone’s 25 Best Country/Americana Albums of 2023 list with her debut record, “Lucky.” Since then, she has been featured on Old Dominion’s “Can’t Break Up Now,” a collaboration from the band’s fifth studio album, “Memory Lane,” and she also released her first song of 2024 last month with “No Caller ID,” a post-breakup track that…
Big ole hit. “Different ‘Round here” by Riley Green featuring Luke Combs is the #1 song on Mediabase country this week. Originally the title track to Green’s debut album in 2019, Riley re-recorded and re-released the song with Combs as the first single off his recent sophomore studio record, “Ain’t My Last Rodeo.” Different ‘Round Here becomes Green’s third No. 1 at country radio, following the platinum hit, “There Was This Girl,” and his collaboration with Thomas Rhett on “Half of Me.” Surprisingly enough, Green’s third single, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” is certified double platinum and is arguably his…
