Every campfire needs a guitar. Riley Green recently added his edition to CMT’s ongoing series of acoustic Campfire Sessions. Among the songs played was a new cut of one of his most popular tracks, “Different ‘Round Here.” One of the coolest parts of the Campfire Sessions is seeing artists put new spins on some of their biggest hits, and Green does exactly that here. He dropped the original instrumental intro and added an acapella chorus instead. For a song with such an iconic first line of the chorus (“Brave is 18 wearing army green”), this was a great choice. One of country music’s true power couples. In a recent interview with Cowboys and Indians magazine, Chris Stapleton covered a wide range of topics. One of the main themes was his relationship, both personally and professionally, with his wife Morgane. The pair first met when they were both employed as songwriters at a publishing house in Nashville in 2003, when Chris was only 25 years old. In a story fit for a movie, the two’s first date (and presumably many after) was a songwriting session together. Talking about these unique nights together, Stapleton said: “She would make the joke that…

He may be on to something here. Hardy recently made an appearance on the Ten Year Town podcast with Troy Cartwright. At one point the pair got on the topic of the bro country era from the early 2010’s, and Hardy had an interesting take on how he saw that time period for the genre. “Bro country was like a professional wrestler era, and every song, every single was their theme song walking out… and everybody was fit and good looking, and like, that was your thing.” Following this, Hardy shared what some might call a hot take regarding the…

Football and country music. Name a better combo. On Saturday Randall King performed the national anthem at the Houston Texans playoff game at NRG Stadium against the Cleveland Browns. Some viewers were disappointed that the performance was not included on the game’s NBC broadcast, but King later posted a video to his Instagram of the song for his fans to check out. King traded in his usual cowboy hat and button down for a personalized blue home Texans jersey with his last name on the back. The “Mirror, Mirror” singer showed off some photos from the sidelines to his Instagram.…
