The Ella Langley and Drake collaboration rumors just keep getting stronger and stronger.
At this point, Drake’s either in his full-blown Ella-Fella era or the two have a secret project up their sleeves. Adding even more fuel to the fire, Drake was spotted grooving along to Langley’s current Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Choosin’ Texas,” at her Arkansas show, just last week. Now “Champagne Papi” is taking things a step further with a remix of his own.
Over the weekend, the 39-year-old rapper was spotted at a Toronto club, where he hopped up into the mixing booth and gave the crowd a glimpse at what appears to be his feature on a new hip-hop-infused rendition of the summer anthem. Per the clips floating around online, Drake hops on the track, slowing down the reverb with his own rap verses, singing, “It doesn’t take a crystal ball to see, a cowgirl loves a…drinkin’ jack all by myself.”
Will his hometown remix ever see the light of day? Time will tell. But there’s no denying that after seeing Drake enjoying himself heavily alongside Langley’s “Loving Life Again” co-writer ERNEST at her Dandelion tour stop last weekend and his Instagram comment nod the week prior, this potential country crossover is not far out of reach.
Now, for some, that news is a mind-blowing win and the makings of a surefire chart-topper. Others, however, are far less excited about the potential genre-blending collaboration, leaving the internet more divided than ever:
Undeniably, though, with Drake’s surefire chart-topping power paired with Langley’s seemingly unstoppable single, if this remix ever does see the light of day, “Choosin’ Texas'” reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 likely isn’t going anywhere anytime soon as Langley continues to creep closer to challenging Mariah Carey’s 22-week No. 1 run with her holiday hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
In the meantime, Langley will enjoy the next weekend off from touring before returning to the stage on Thursday, September 10 in Newark, NJ, continuing on her highly successful 2026 tour which will wrap up on Halloween, October 31 in Minnesota.
