After weeks of speculation and teases, Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley have officially reunited for their new song, “Jaded.”
Taking a turn from their prior rockin’ fan-favorite 2023 duet “That’s Why We Fight,” the two have returned with this groovy summer jam. The collaboration couldn’t come at a better time, with Langley continuing to reach new heights in her buzzing career following the April release of Dandelion and Koe continuing to expand on his June release, The Night Champion.
This duet is the first of two collaboration tracks to come from the Texas native who first teased the deluxe edition of his recent album back on June 25, releasing five out of the seven additional songs. Considering we were right about Langley’s feature, I think it’s also safe to assume our prediction that the next will be with Stephen Wilson Jr. is highly likely.
Fittingly, for the “Jaded” track, they used a sparkling green disco ball to represent the anthem and Wetzel driving in a “Smoky and the Bandit”-esque Corvette for the visuals. Wetzel and Langley co-wrote the track with ERNEST and Jordan Schmidt during a writing session in Nashville.
Following its highly anticipated midnight release, fans already have a lot to say about the song:
While this track is certainly a bit of an experimental mix-up for both artists, I think it’s safe to say these two together are lightning in a bottle (“That’s Why We Fight” Pun intended), and the song’s bound to do numbers. Many fans are also holding out their breath that with Koe returning to the stage this Saturday, August 8, in Nashville and Ella off the weekend for touring, they’ll make a special reunion for the song’s live debut.
