Kelly Clarkson can truly do no wrong, and it seems she’s just as obsessed with Riley Green’s recent single, “Worst Way,” as the rest of the world. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the multi-talented superstar and talk show host performed the track live on her segment “Kellyoke” on Thursday, February 13.
Since its release in March 2024, everyone and their mother has been drooling over the track, and its appeal has grown even more since the release of Green’s steamy music video. Written by Green himself, the song’s seductive lyrics are delivered mesmerizingly by his smooth voice. But, there’s no denying Clarkson’s unique ability to hit the mark every single time, and she maintains her streak of impeccable covers with her rendition of the trending hit.
The “Kellyoke” stage, bathed in red lighting, sets the sultry mood for her performance. Accompanied by her band, Clarkson captivated the crowd with her unbeatable vocal range and perfect delivery. The second chorus really steals the show as she belts out the impactful soul-stirring notes on top of an electric guitar riff.
A known country music fan, Clarkson has covered numerous country hits while hosting her daytime talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” In just the past few weeks she performed Avery Anna and Dylan Marlowe’s, “I Will (When You Do),” Max McNown’s “A Lot More Free” and Ella Langley’s “Better Be Tough.”
The karaoke queen finished her performance with a shout to Riley Green, saying she “loves him” and “digs him”. Green reciprocated the admiration by reposting a video of her performance to his Instagram story on Thursday. This has only got me more excited to see what other country songs Clarkson will undoubtedly master on her show.
