It must be a Luke thing.
This past weekend, Luke Combs took his headlining Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old tour to Santa Clara, California, where he performed for a sold out crowd at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Fransisco 49ers.
Although fans obviously paid tickets to see the 34 year-old country star perform all 18 of his No. 1 hits, Luke might’ve been the third most popular person on his own stage when he was joined by 49ers quarterback, Brock Purdy, and star tight end, George Kittle, to shotgun beers during his performance of “1,2 Many,” originally a collaboration with Brooks & Dunn off his sophomore album, “What You See Is What You Get.”
While the San Fran football stars partying on stage with Luke might’ve been the main headline, it certainly wasn’t the only highlight of the night…
During the last song of his set (just three songs after Kittle and Purdy were sloshing beer all over the stage), Luke slipped and fell while his band played the outro to his 2019 No. 1 hit, “Beer Never Broke My Heart.”
Although Luke played it safe (literally….. you’ll understand when you watch the video), it didn’t stop our followers from having fun in the comment section:
“Beer didn’t break his heart, but it sure as hell almost broke his legs.”
I would have torn both ACLs and a patella.”
“He didn’t slip, he was sliding into home!”
Glad to see no bones were broken and no beers were were spilled. But if Luke Combs and Luke Bryan are ever planning on getting on stage together, the venue is going to need a ton of wet floor signs and an orthopedist backstage. Watch the video here:
