Back on April 7th, Morgan Wallen was famously arrested on three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor for disorderly conduct after he threw a chair off of fellow country star, Eric Church’s, Nashville bar, Chiefs.
The arrest led to a plethora of memes and t-shirts with Wallen’s mugshot and criticism being thrown at the “Last Night” singer with Nashville council-member, Jordan Huffman, claiming that the Tennessee native “does not belong” in the town.
Despite some backlash, Wallen hasn’t lost any momentum that was gained throughout his record-breaking year in 2023. He’s scored yet another #1 on country radio for “Cowgirls” featuring ERNEST, scored an all-genre #1 alongside Post Malone on “I Had Some Help” and has been seen with the likes of Tom Brady, Mike Tyson, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Brooks & Dunn throughout his tour this summer.
Today, as reported by Billboard, Wallen’s Nashville court date for his April arrest has been moved from this Thursday, August 15th to Thursday, December 12th. Though not confirmed, it’s likely due to Wallen prepping for the beginning of the European leg of his One Night at a Time tour which begins on August 28 in Stockholm, Sweden.
During his initial court hearing on May 3, Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, appeared on his behalf before the judge moved the hearing to the newly moved date, August 15th. Back in May, Robinson called the case complicated, saying, “This is obviously [a] very complicated case and it’s not going to resolve itself without subpoenas and witnesses. The state will subpoena witnesses, and we’ll work on the case on our end… several things can happen in the case. We might have a hearing, we might settle the case or the case might continue. Those are the options.”
Though it has not yet been reported why the date has been moved, Robinson said Wallen will be attending the hearing in person on December 12.
