Every year, Stagecoach becomes the ultimate breeding ground for some epic and unexpected crossovers, and this past weekend’s 2026 event was no exception.
We had Cody Johnson teaming up with Boyz II Men, Darius Rucker bringing out Public Enemy, Ella Langley finding a new duet partner in Theo Von, and somehow, Sydney Sweeney was just popping up everywhere. However, arguably one of the best and most full-circle moments came when Wyatt Flores sang alongside none other than The Fray’s former frontman, Isaac Slade.
Flores’ rendition of the band’s 2006 hit track “How To Save A Life” quickly became a fan favorite both before and after its release in 2024. The Oklahoma native was no stranger to covering the band’s second career single frequently throughout his early years of touring. After the beckonings from many for an official version and feeling personally connected to the track, Flores included the cover on his sophomore album, Half Life.
Continuing to mount himself as one of the rising faces in country music from the red dirt scene, the 24-year-old wrapped up this year’s Stagecoach weekend as the last set of the night this past Sunday, April 26. He not only teased his next era of music to come by performing his unreleased track, “Drive All Night,” but also topped things off with this special appearance from Slade.
While the former Fray singer may have left the band in March 2022, it’s still awesome to watch him throw things back to his roots as he continues to explore a solo career in music. Likewise, the dynamic duo was unbeatable as the crowd erupted, singing the beloved track alongside the two, with flashlights illuminating the show.
Flores opened up in the caption of the video saying, “covered this song hundreds of times over the years, and now I can say I got to sing it with the man himself, Isaac Slade,” with, of course, adding a humble hashtag, #dreamscometrue. The “Please Don’t Go” singer also memorialized this career milestone by releasing his full hour-long set from the night on YouTube.
For the full performance between Flores and Slade, along with the rest of his 15-song-long show spanning from his beginning Life Lessons album to 2024’s Welcome To The Plains and now his most recent material, including “Running on E,” check out the cinematic live set video below.
