Cardinal rule of buck hunting with Luke Combs: Don’t let him get a hold of gluten beforehand.
The country music mega superstar who recently wrapped up his highly successful 2026 My Kinda Saturday Night Tour this past month also so happens to be openly gluten-sensitive. So, for all you gluten-intolerant and celiac-suffering fans out there, you can officially add Combs to the “celebrities, they’re just like us” list alongside Billy Bob Thornton, Zooey Deschanel, Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, and former NFL star Drew Brees, who have all reportedly followed gluten-free diets.
Given the fact that Combs shifted to a gluten-free lifestyle after taking a food sensitivity test, he steers away from all forms of wheat, barley, rye, etc. for good. He decided to use this tidbit to play a little prank on a recent episode of Drury Outdoors, where he tricked his guide and show host, Mark Drury, into thinking he accidentally ate a bit too much gluten-heavy pasta.
The episode, which was filmed back in December 2025, features the boys, including Combs’ longtime manager, Ethan Strunk, heading out on a wintry Iowa Buck Hunt. While the hunt was in fact successful, with the “Hurricane” singer wrapping up his episode by punching a tag on a giant beast, in typical Combs fashion, he lightened the mood beforehand with a little harmless prank.
Combs shares with Mark that he had a ‘spaghetti sandwich’ before heading out on their hunt (which sounds like quite the unique carb-loading combo). Once they sneak into the blind, Luke alerts the guys that he’s got a bad stomach ache.
Mark urgently shares behind the scenes, “He’s allergic to gluten. We had two types of spaghetti. One with gluten, one without. He tells me he got into the wrong dish of spaghetti. The last thing I want to do is leave this blind at this moment.” The shot then forwards to Mark and Combs sitting patiently when the North Carolina native sighs and states, “I think I might have eaten some of that d*mn gluten spaghetti on accident. I feel like I gotta sh*t or something.”
Talk about an absolutely lethal feeling: being stuck in the middle of the woods, bundled up in ten pounds of winter camo, with what feels like a demon wreaking havoc inside your gut. He disappointingly realizes that he did, in fact, eat out of the “big pan” of gluten pasta and proceeds to whip out what I can only assume is a pack of dude wipes or something along those lines, telling Mark, “Well, I did bring these.”
Mark and Combs immediately start busting into laughter, thinking there’s no way in h*ll this guy’s about to crap himself in a deer stand. Now that’s what I call dedication to the hunt.
Revealing his plan, he admits to Mark, “I threw those in the bag right before you pulled up. I was like, we gotta f*ck with Mark right when we get settled in there and tell him I gotta sh*t or something.” Now if that doesn’t solidify the fact that Combs, hands down, would be one of the easiest celebrities to hang out with, I don’t know what will.
Surely spending the next few months soaking up the start of hunting season and his time at home with his wife and three kids, it’s only a matter of time before he’s hitting the stage once more on his 2027 Stadium tour. Combs will kick things off in Arlington, Texas on April 3 and wrap up later next summer on June 26 in San Diego.
