As the self-proclaimed guru of bad self-tans…I fear it’s my public duty to step in and speak on Tim McGraw’s new viral look.
I’m not sure why the 29 No.1 hit-maker pulled up to his Country Music Hall of Fame induction looking like a 17-year-old southern girl attending her first prom, but fans were not letting it go unnoticed. Sunday evening, the “Live Like You Were Dying” singer celebrated a career-defining moment as he was finally inducted into the CMHOF by none other than Alabama’s Randy Owen.
The night was filled with dedicated performances from Parker McCollum, Lady A, and Lainey Wilson as he was joined by other fellow new inductees, Paul Overstreet and The Stanley Brothers. According to those in attendance, the ceremony was a tear-jerker as well, with McGraw getting rightfully emotional during his speech, joined by his wife, Faith Hill, and two daughters in the crowd.
All in all, it seemed like a pretty magical night and an unforgettable career high that will forever define McGraw’s legacy. But unfortunately, the night was also marked by the aftermath of his now-viral red carpet photos being scrutinized by the internet thanks to McGraw’s fresh tan.
To be fair, McGraw’s always been bronzed; after all, it’s part of his ripped, chippendale cowboy-esque look. But Sunday night’s orange undertones really took the tan to a whole new level
Sporting a rust-colored suit and sleek black cowboy hat, many couldn’t help but notice that his overly bronzed face nearly faded into his deep red outfit. Whether we can blame it on poor lighting, a bad pre-event tanning session, or the fact that he is half Cherokee and Choctaw, either way, people online came prepared with a stockpile of jokes:

Jokes aside, congratulations to McGraw, who spent the night surrounded by friends and loved ones while celebrating an honor reserved for country music’s greatest legends. Now the 159th member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, he’s officially cemented his place among the genre’s all-time greats. And hey, to be fair, if I were living like I was dying, my days would be filled with some heavy tanning, too.
