Unless you live under a rock, you’re probably well aware that Jason Aldean has been under fire this past week for his latest single, “Try That In A Small Town.”
While the song has reached No. 1 on iTunes all genre and become Jason’s highest position on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart ever, it hasn’t stopped critics from taking aim at the Country singer for being “racist” or “promoting violence,” as well as CMT removing the video from their music video rotation.
Artists such as Jake Owen, Luke Bryan and Cody Johnson have defended Aldean amidst the controversy, and now, the next one to come to his side (and it shouldn’t really shock you) is Brantley Gilbert.
The two teamed up on “Rolex On A Redneck” last year and Aldean has cut a few songs that BG has written, including “Dirt Road Anthem,” “My Kinda Party,” “The Best Of Me” and “The Same Way.”
In the video that has been going around on social media, Brantley tells the crowd at the Arkansas Music Pavillion that he’s “mad as hell.”
“Society these days, I don’t much understand and don’t much give a sh*t to. One of my many pet peeves is the fact that we live in a society nowadays where people don’t get punched in the face anymore. Just a bunch of keyboard warriors hiding behind cell phones and laptops talkin’ a bunch of sh*t...
I thought I was going to tweet something and I realized that I don’t have the passwords to any of my social media.”
