The song that keeps on giving…
Just nineteen days ago, Oliver Anthony released “Rich Men North Of Richmond” and not only has the video racked up almost 50 million views through RadioWV’s YouTube account, Anthony made history last week when he became the first artist in history to ever debut at the top spot without previously appearing on any Billboard chart, prior.
Now, Rich Men is the No. 1 song on Billboard’s all-genre Hot 100 chart for the second straight week, with Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs sitting in second and third.
For only the third time in the chart’s history, Country songs currently round out the top three on the Hot 100, with Jason Aldean’s “Try That In A Small Town” first helping make that possible.
With that probably being Anthony’s biggest accolade thus far, don’t forget the song also went No. 1 on iTunes, he was surprised by Jamey Johnson on stage in North Carolina to perform, “In Color,” and the viral song was also featured in the first Republican presidential debate on Fox News.
It’s too early to predict if this newfound fame fades out for Anthony, but as of right now, he’s humbly taking in every minute of it.
Note: The Hot 100‘s chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), online streaming, and radio play in the U.S.
