After endless teasing from Koe Wetzel, the “Sweet Dreams” singer has finally announced his next era of music will be in our hands in a little over a month on June 12.
The upcoming album’s title, The Night Champion, comes as no surprise, given his late February announcement of the project’s coinciding world tour. With his first stop kicking off this past Sunday down under in Melbourne, it was only a matter of time before the Texas native fueled the summer with his promise of new music.
In his short teaser announcement, the clip features a flashback montage of Koe’s career with imagery of his younger self, reflecting his rise to fame. Highlighting the project’s theme of his evolution as an artist, he speaks over the video saying, “Before the lights, before the noise, before anyone knew his name, there was a kid… Growing up isn’t about getting older; it’s about surviving who you were, becoming who you are. every scar, every mistake, every late night.” Then, emphasizing the meaning behind this new chapter’s name, he adds, “When the sun comes down, that’s when the real ones rise. Welcome to the Night Champion.”
So far, Koe has already given a glimpse into his sixth studio album with the release of one of its lead singles, “Time Goes On,” back on February 6, 2026. For those too eager to wait another 38 days until the album’s full drop, he’ll also return this Friday, May 8, with his latest track, “Hurts Like You.”
The Fort Worth native surely wasn’t kidding when he said that he has some new additions to his set list on tour this year. He’ll head back on the road this Saturday, May 9, in Brisbane, Australia, as he continues his busy yet exciting 2026, joined by supporting acts such as Shane Smith & The Saints, Ole 60, Wyatt Flores, Corey Kent, Wade Bowen, Bayker Blankenship, Kolby Cooper, and Logan Jahnke.
