Unexpected…
Just days after Nashville Councilmembers denied a sign that would bear Morgan Wallen’s name at the entrance of his brand-new venue in downtown Nashville, “This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen,” the “Last Night” singer is facing another setback.
As reported by WSMV, This Bar & Tennesee Kitchen’s opening, scheduled for this weekend has been delayed.
Scoop Nashville originally reported that the delay can be attributed to “This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen” being denied both a catering permit as well as a temporary permit for the location by the Nashville Beer Board.
Since then, a rep for This Bar has reached out to Country Chord, clarifying that the report of denied permits as being the reason for the delayed opening is inaccurate.
The team behind Wallen’s bar also insists that it has nothing to do with the controversial hearing by the Metro Nashville Council, which resulted in a 30-3 vote in favor of denying the construction with Wallen’s name at the entrance. View their entire statement here:
“We’re proud of our team who has worked tirelessly to prepare Morgan Wallen’s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen for opening. The ground-up construction of a six-story venue launching with hundreds of team members is a tremendous amount of work and a complex process. When we open, we want This Bar to be an exceptional experience for guests. Unfortunately, the process requires more time, and we are not able to open and provide that experience this Memorial Day weekend.”
The team also added:
“Rest assured it will be well worth the wait. We look forward to welcoming guests soon.”
As of writing, there is no word on when “This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen” will open. Stay tuned for more updates.
