Big news Reba fans.
This morning the NFL announced the pregame entertainment lineup for Super Bowl LVIII and the tradition of country singers performing the National Anthem continues, with Reba McEntire up next.
Post Malone is also set to hit the stage for a performance of “America the Beautiful,” while Andra Day will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” which is often referred to as the “Black National Anthem.”
The last time we witnessed a full country halftime show was way back in 1994, and it featured Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Travis Tritt, and Wynonna Judd. In the 30 years since, the closest we’ve come was when Shania Twain co-headlined with No Doubt in 2003.
While its been 21 years since a country artist has taken the big stage, we’ve seen a ton of ’em perform the anthem over the last couple of decades.
Garth Brooks had the honor to perform the patriotic musical composition back in 1993, Faith Hill (2000), Dixie Chicks (2003), Carrie Underwood (2010) and so on…
Eric Church performed the anthem alongside Jazmine Sullivan in 2021, while Chris Stapleton had arguably the best rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles last year.
