What. A. Performance.
Out of all of the highly anticipated performances at this year’s Stagecoach, none quite had the buzz that Post Malone’s country covers set had.
Post opened up the night with a phenomenal cover of Tyler Childers‘ “Whitehouse Road” before diving into a setlist that contained a plethora of 90s and 2000s hits ranging from Toby Keith to George Strait and Tim McGraw.
As expected, the “Circles” singer brought out Brad Paisley to cover “I’m Gonna Miss Her,” a track that put Post on the country music map after his performance of it with Dwight Yoakam’s band during a 2021 charity livestream in the wake of Winter Storm Uri in Texas.
What people didn’t expect, however, was Paisley to return to the stage for Post’s final song of the night, a cover of Alan Jackson’s classic, “Chattahoochee.”
The two absolutely delivered a knockout performance of the 1993 hit. It’s no secret that Paisley is one of the greatest guitar players in the genres history, so his guitarwork coupled with Post’s incredible stage presence made this performance simply one for the ages.
With this performance, we are only left with one lingering question: When is the country album coming, Austin?
