Koe Wetzel is shaking things up on his upcoming 2026 The Night Champion World Tour.
Less than a month from now, the Texas native will start his heavy load of tour dates down under in Melbourne, on May 3. Making a few stops throughout Australia, he’ll head back to the North for three shows in Canada before embarking on four months of shows in cities across the United States.
With the tour announced back in February, as an exciting gift to the fans just a couple of days before his self-titled February 28 holiday, Wetzel also promised this summer would usher in a new album as well. While no official release date has been confirmed, the “High Road” singer does have some new tricks up his sleeve for the 45 dates of shows.
Teasing this new “Night Champion” era, Wetzel posted a bass-heavy cover of Steve Miller Band’s 1976 hit, “Fly Like An Eagle.” While it truly doesn’t get better than a classic rock cover from Koe, fair warning to headphone users, this is probably not the video you want to listen to on full volume– the potential eardrum blasting is worth it though.
With Wetzel set to headline tonight’s (April 10) opening show at Cattle Country Festival 2026, hopefully, he’ll pull this cover back out for the setlist. While I sit back and soak in the FOMO and pray that someone records the whole performance, luckily, this is only just a beginning teaser of what is to come.
He promised in the caption of the post, “Got a couple of new songs for this tour.” Given the inevitable upcoming drop of his seventh studio album, hopefully, this is an indication of some teasers of his as well as a few covers sprinkled throughout the setlist. Wetzel’s been known to put his own spin on everything from Lit’s “My Own Worst Enemy” to Sammy Kershaw’s “Queen of My Double Wide Trailer,” so pretty much any genre is fair game.
Joining Wetzel on the road this year are some other surefire incredible acts, including Wyatt Flores (who also has promises of new music on the way), Corey Kent, Shane Smith & The Saints, Ole 60, Wade Bowen, Bayker Blankenship, and more.
