As an independent artist until 2019, Randall King is no stranger to hard work. He self-released both his 2016 EP & 2018 album before singing with his current label in 2019. King then released the album “Shot Glass” in March 2022. This groundbreaking record included “Hey Cowgirl” and “You In A Honky Tonk,” now King’s top-streamed single across all platforms, with over 17 million streams on Spotify alone.
King’s vocals and songwriting remind me a lot of The King himself, fellow Texas-native George Strait. Before any of y’all come for me – I know it’s ambitious to compare any of today’s country artists to 90’s legends…But if I had to pick someone who echoes that classic sound, it would easily be Randall King.
Just yesterday, Randall King gave fans a heads up that new music is on the way, and announced “Green Eyes Blue” is coming out next week. He gave another nod to classic honky-tonk-hits with his post, writing “Welcome to the neon era of country music.”
Pre-Save “Green Eyes Blue” before it drops 3/24.
