Aerosmith is officially pausing their Farewell Tour after discovering Steven Tyler’s vocal injury is more serious than initially presumed.
Just one week after the legendary rock band kicked off the tour with The Black Crowes in Pittsburgh on September 3rd, frontman Steven Tyler injured his vocal chords and was initially given orders to go on vocal rest for thirty days, releasing this statement to the band’s Instagram account:
“I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.” – Steven Tyler.”
Well, now it appears the injury is more serious after news has broke that Steven fractured his larynx and the band, who has sold over 150 million albums worldwide since their debut album dropped in 1973, has officially postponed the remaining seventeen tour dates until 2024.
“To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care. “
“He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential. As a result, all the currently scheduled PEACE OUT shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more.”
All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds will be available for those unable to attend. Fans with questions regarding refunds are asked to reach out to their point of purchase.
