Unless you live under a rock, you’re probably well aware that Jason Aldean has been under fire this past week for his latest single, “Try That In A Small Town.”
While the song has reached No. 1 on iTunes all genre and become the most popular song on Tiktok, it hasn’t stopped critics from taking aim at the Country singer for being “racist” or “promoting violence,” as well as CMT removing the video from their music video rotation.
Jason Aldean released a lengthy statement on social media a few days ago and also addressed the situation further at a show in Cincinnati two nights ago…
“Here’s what I wanna say – A lot of things out there, cancel culture is a thing, that’s something that if people don’t like what you say, they try and make sure that they can cancel you. Which means try and ruin your life, ruin everything. One thing I saw this week was a bunch of Country music fans that could see through a lot of the bullsh*t, alright?
After taking heat from artists such as Jason Isbell and Sheryl Crow, Cody Johnson decided to step up and stand by Aldean at a recent show of his own.
“Everybody gets pissed off at Jason Aldean for putting out a song….If you’re videoing this and Jason Aldean if you’re seeing this, you keep it up brother, you do you boo-boo.”
He then continues on… “If being patriotic makes you an outlaw, then by God, I’ll be an outlaw.” Check out the video below.
