Not havin’ it.
Last night, Carly Pearce made an appearance at WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, where she performed for one of the largest country music and camping festivals in the country, held every year during the first weekend in August at Soo Pass Ranch.
This year’s We Fest lineup included Jelly Roll, Parker McCollum and Eric Church as headliners, as well as Koe Wetzel, Warren Zeiders, Trace Adkins, Carly herself and more.
During her set on night two, a (probably drunk) audience member apparently said something that REAAAALLY pissed Carly off, and she wasn’t puttin’ up with it. According to radio personality @IanOnAir, security told him the a**shole shouted out “who cares” when Carly told the audience she wanted to tell them a little bit about herself:
From what security told me, when she went to the mic to say “I want to tell you all a little bit about me”, he yelled “no one cares”.

The 34 year-old singer/songwriter heard it and that’s when it all went south…
“Get out of my show. If you’re gonna be an a**hole then you are gonna have to say it to me and get the f*ck out of my show. I do not have time for d*cks, see ya later!”
Moments after that, Carly pointed out her dad was in attendance to watch her perform that night:
“My dad is right here and I think he’s gonna have a heart attack. I’m sorry daddy, but if you are an a**hole, you have to leave.”
I’m not sure why we are still having to have this conversation in 2024, but stop being disrespectful to artists you came to see live. While sure, the guy probably didn’t attend the festival to see Carly, as there were a ton of other acts performing that night and throughout the three-day event, but you paid the money to get the full experience, and look at ya now, getting laughed at on the internet.
It’s really this simple: stop flicking off artists, stop shouting rude comments, and STOP throwing sh*t. Thanks for coming to my (and Carly’s) ted talk. Now watch this drive:
