Bringing it home.
This past weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma, was one for the ages. With over 180,000 people in attendance at the Cross Canadian Ragweed’s Boys From Oklahoma throughout the four shows, the concert series can only be described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience for fans of red dirt country.
With fellow red dirt legends, the Turnpike Troubadours, The Great Divide, Jason Boland & The Stragglers and Stoney LaRue, serving as primary openers, a plethora of different artists made surprise appearances throughout the weekend.
Whether it was Dierks Bentley coming out on night one to join Ragweed on “42 Miles,” Wyatt Flores joining Turnpike on “7 & 7” or Kaitlin Butts joining Ragweed on “Sick and Tired” night three, the weekend featured some of the best and brightest stars joining the legendary band.
As night four rolled around, many were wondering who would be the final guest to close out the historic weekend, and it turns out it was none other than former Texas darling and current mainstream staple, Parker McCollum.
McCollum, who has been a longtime fan of the Oklahoman band since the beginning, came out towards the latter half of the set and joined Ragweed for a performance of their 2002 track, “Constantly,” a song that he covered back in 2021 on their tribute album.
While introducing McCollum, Ragweed frontman Cody Canada said, “There’s a very, very, very good-looking gentleman that’s going to sing it with us tonight. And I don’t really know how to feel about it.”
To no one’s surprise, Ragweed and the “Pretty Heart” singer delivered an incredible performance that truly put the perfect bow on the entire weekend.
