Did not have that on my 2024 bingo list.
Just two days after the controversial Rolling Stone interview with Bruce Springsteen in which he claimed he “didn’t want to be a country musician,” Zach Bryan is now supposedly working on a collaboration with none other than Snoop Dogg.
In an interview with Today, Snoop was asked if he was a country music fan. Immediately, the 52-year-old rapper replied, “Zach sent me a song. I gotta put a verse on it.”
He then said that he was inspired by the aforementioned interview with Springsteen, “I’m inspired seeing that with him with The Boss, Bruce Springsteen.”
While Bryan has not said anything about the potential collaboration, there’s no doubt that it would absolutely break the internet. As mentioned previously, this reveal comes just days after Bryan said that he doesn’t want to be a country musician and rather be a songwriter.
Given that he’s collaborated with non-country artists such as the aforementioned Springsteen, John Mayer, Bon Iver and Noah Kahan, it’s looking like Bryan might branch out even further with this Snoop Dogg collaboration.
While collaborating with someone with such a radically different music style seems out there, to say the least, I’m definitely intrigued. The “Something in the Orange” singer noted that he has 14 songs in mind for his next album, so maybe Snoop will appear on one of them.
