That time of year again. It’s December, and that means two things: an overload of Christmas music anytime you leave the house, and “best of” year end lists. Rolling Stone recently put out their 100 Best Albums of 2023, and on Friday they followed it up with their 100 Best Songs of 2023. The Top Albums list showed the country scene some love, but the Top Songs list took it a step further. The ranking highlighted six country songs, with five of those being in the top 50. The country entries for the list were: 73. “White Horse”- Chris Stapleton…

Well deserved. On Thursday Rolling Stone released their list of “The 100 Best Albums of 2023,” and country artists were well represented. Among the entries were Megan Moroney’s Lucky at 43, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit’s Weathervanes at 25, and Zach Bryan’s Zach Bryan coming in at number 10. The magazine was very complimentary of all three artists in their publication of the list. Bryan’s self titled record was one of the most commercially successful entries on the list, and Rolling Stone gave a small nod to that fact. Speaking on the album, they said: On this year’s biggest country…
I’d pay to watch that. On Tuesday Tom Brady posted a reel to Instagram of himself taking a few golf swings. In the background of the video, several Morgan Wallen songs could be heard playing, including “Broadway Girls” and “Whiskey Friends.” Apparently, Morgan noticed. Wednesday morning Morgan reposted the video to his story, with the caption: “When we playing a match? @tombrady” Within minutes, Brady responded. He in turn reposted Wallen’s story, this time adding a simple “LFG @morganwallen.” Wallen has spoken before of his love of golf, often sneaking in a round while out on tour. In 2022 he…
‘Tis the season. Thanksgiving has passed, so the Christmas music haters are officially out of time to put off the caroling. Everywhere you go holiday music is in full swing, so let’s take a look at the best country version of some classic Christmas hits. “Jingle Bell Rock”- George Strait Starting off with a classic. When you’ve been cranking out country hits for over 40 years, you’re bound to have cut a Christmas album or three, as is the case for King George. George has recorded his own take on nearly every Christmas hit at this point, but his version…
What a pleasant surprise. On Tuesday, Tim McGraw surprised audiences with the release of his new EP, Poet’s Resume. McGraw announced the project with an Instagram post Tuesday showing his gratitude for his fans. The EP fits well with the message of gratitude and reflection that McGraw shared on social media. The title track, written by Josh Osborne, Lori McKenna, and Scott Stepakoff, explores the concept of the experiences of life being what makes one “qualified” to be a poet. “One Bad Habit,” written by Aaron Eshuis, Marc Beeson, and Tony Lane, serves as a thank you letter, presumably to…
Asking the hard hitting questions. The CMAs aired last week, which meant we got plenty of interviews and quotes from the red carpet. Among them was Riley Green getting a bit TMI while answering some interview questions. In a TikTok posted Saturday, Riley was asked how much he would sell feet photos for. His response? “Lunch.” The interviewer, model Katie Austin, couldn’t help but laugh, paired with a lighthearted “you’re lying.” She then asked him how much he would sell his dirty socks for. This one seemed to puzzle Riley a bit more drawing a response of “Dirty socks? People…
