Darius Rucker was arrested Thursday afternoon in Williamson County, Tennessee, on three separate charges.
According to TMZ, the 57 year-old country singer was arrested for two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count of violatingTennessee’s vehicle registration law – all misdemeanors.
The police are apparently alleging that Darius’ tags were expired on his vehicle.
Rucker’s attorney tells TMZ that he is being fully compliant with authorities:
“Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.”
Rucker was brought into jail at around 12 noon CT and released on bail an hour later. The events that led to his arrest are currently unclear, as well as which drug(s) were in his possession.
*UPDATE*
Franklin Tennessee police stated that Darius Rucker was pulled over due to his registration tags being expired. After approaching , the cops smelled marijuana and searched his vehicle.
Officers reportedly found a blunt, a THC pen, and 14 magic-mushroom-like controlled substance pills referred to as psilocyn, which Darius claimed were given to him.
