When George Strait announced his 2024 stadium tour with Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town back in September, he turned a lot of heads by having no dates in his home state of Texas. Fans across social media were clamoring for the “Amarillo By Morning” singer to make an appearance in the Lone Star state this year.
Yesterday, Strait took to Instagram and posted a cryptic video addressing the outcry for a Texas show, showing dozens of comments begging for a Texas show in 2024. The video had no caption and ultimately no tangible evidence of a confirmed show.
Minutes after Strait’s post, Parker McCollum added fuel to the fire and posted a cover of his 3x platinum hit, “Troubador,” with the caption, “College Station, I told y’all it would make sense. Tomorrow 9 AM.”
Today, Strait officially announced that he will, in fact, be playing in Texas this year, performing his first-ever concert at Kyle Field on Saturday, June 15 in College Station.
Kyle Field is the home of the Texas A&M Aggies football team and seats just over 102,000 people. As teased, McCollum will be opening the show along with Catie Offerman.
Tickets will go on sale next Thursday, March 28 at 10:00 a.m. CT. However, you can sign up for the Friday, March 22 presale here.
