Move over, Reba. Miranda Lambert is now officially the most nominated contender for Female Artist of The Year, earning her 17th nomination this past week.
On Thursday, The Academy of Country Music announced its nominees for the 58th annual awards taking place in May. Miranda Lambert scored nominations in five categories, including Album of The Year and the sought-after Entertainer of the Year – the title she currently holds.
She also landed a nomination for Female Artist of The Year alongside Ashley McBryde, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson and reigning champ, Carly Pearce. While obviously a huge achievement, this nomination isn’t anything groundbreaking for Miranda Lambert. In fact, it’s been a pretty regular occurrence ever since her first nomination in 2007.
Since then, she’s racked up more than a few ACM honors, in both nominations and wins. So many, that she currently holds the title for most career wins awarded to any artist. Ever. She secured this spot in 2018 when she broke the record for most career wins with her 32nd ACM award and surpassed the prior lead held by Brooks and Dunn.
2018 also happened to be the year Miranda Lambert broke a record set by none other than Reba McEntire, when she became the most-crowned Female Artist of the Year. She added a ninth win to her collection, one-upping Reba’s eight years of taking the title.
With an impressive 37 career wins at the ACM Awards to date, I’d say Miranda Lambert is a seasoned vet. She’s on track to take home another five trophies this year and continue her streak as Entertainer of the Year.
